Heritage photography and writing, alongside my genealogy practice
Alongside my genealogy practice, I’m building a body of work in the historic environment and heritage sector — photographing historic buildings and places, and writing about their history and significance. This portfolio reflects my move toward a career as a Historic Environment or Heritage Officer, drawing on the same research discipline I bring to family history: careful sourcing, attention to detail, and a genuine curiosity about the past.
Photography
A growing collection of historic buildings, churches, and landscapes captured on my travels, organised by theme and region — from Anglo-Saxon Hampshire to vernacular architecture further afield.
Writing
Site write-ups and building histories exploring the places I visit, treated as short heritage reports: location, historical context, sources, and what makes each place worth recording.
